Modular system
With the aluminum M-series frames, you can easily and quickly build different configurations without clutter. Unlike wooden construction, with our system you don’t throw away the stand, but you can use it over and over again! With M-series frames, you don’t have to build the same stand every time. Thanks to its modular nature, you can create endless configurations, which offers enormous flexibility. If you are short of frames for a certain fair due to a larger stand space, you can easily rent or purchase extra frames. In fact, the system grows with your organization.
Modular combination
The M series is designed to combine perfectly with other systems as well. Add a real eye-catcher such as LED tiles or LED-lit textiles to your booth for even more exposure, or build a complete bar in your booth.
Modular elevation
Increase your exposure with a raised floor. The M-floor is a seamless complement to the rest of our modular systems. Finished with PVC or floor tiles, you take your stand to a new level.

Renting or Buying an Exhibition Stand: Which Is the Better Choice for Your Business?
When you decide to exhibit at a trade show, one of the first questions you have to answer is this:

What Are the Benefits of Modular Exhibition Stands?
When you start thinking about your next trade show, choosing the right stand solution is one of the most important

How to Choose the Right Exhibition Stand for Your Business
When you exhibit at a trade show, your stand is usually the first thing people see. Choosing the right exhibition
What is a modular exhibition stand?
A modular exhibition stand is a stand built up from standardised components that you can combine over and over again. The basis consists of aluminium frames that click together without tools, with interchangeable fabrics or panels mounted on them. Where a traditional stand is built for one exhibition and is often thrown away afterwards, a modular stand construction system lasts for years.
The difference lies in the build-up. Modular frames are made of high-grade aluminium and work with the Silicon Edge System: the full colour fabric graphics are slid into the groove of the frame with a silicone edge. This gives you a sleek, seamless wall with no visible fixings. Want a different message or corporate identity? Then you replace only the fabric and keep the same structure.
What does a modular stand system consist of?
A complete system is more than just walls. You combine these components as needed:
- Modular exhibition walls — the Omni-55 PRO frame forms the load-bearing structure, suitable for straight walls, corners and curved shapes.
- LED frames — illuminated frames with a backlit fabric, where the Hi-LED 55 range delivers even light distribution without hotspots.
- Modular lighting — from clip-on spotlights to roll-out LED strips that you deploy differently in each configuration.
- Modular exhibition counter — a counter that fits within the same system, with storage space and printable fronts.
- Modular flooring — click tiles or raised floor sections that visually mark out the boundary of your stand.
- Modular headers — overhead structures and light boxes that make your stand visible from a distance.
- Graphic elements — magnetic Wood panels, monitor brackets and accessories for product presentation.
Because all components are based on the same dimensions, they fit into every configuration. You can extend a 3-metre Outstanding Fabric Pro Backlit wall to 6 metres later on without having to replace anything.
What exactly is a modular exhibition stand?
A modular exhibition stand is built up from standardised components that you can combine over and over again. The basis consists of:
- Aluminium frames — the load-bearing structure, connected without tools
- Interchangeable fabrics — full colour fabric graphics that you replace per campaign
- Lighting — LED spots, backlit fabrics or light boxes
- Counter and accessories — within the same dimensions
The difference from traditional stand construction: that is built for one exhibition and thrown away afterwards. A modular system lasts five to ten years in changing configurations.
Do I need tools to assemble a modular exhibition stand?
No. The aluminium frames click together with a clamp connection. You need no screwdriver, no drill and no fitter.
Indicative assembly times:
- 9 m² — roughly an hour, with two people
- 20 to 30 m² — two to four hours
- Island stand from 50 m² — half a day with an experienced team
Only with heavy overhead structures or large screens do we advise support from a fitter, purely because of the weight.
What does a modular exhibition stand cost?
The price depends on size, configuration and whether you rent or buy.
- Renting: €500 to €3,000 per exhibition
- Buying, compact system: from around €3,000
- Buying, extensive configuration: €20,000 or more, including LED frames and custom elements
Rule of thumb: if you exhibit three or more times a year, the purchase pays for itself within two years. A full cost breakdown, including transport and storage, is on the cost of an exhibition stand.
Can I use the same stand for different stand sizes?
Yes, that is the core benefit of modular. The same frames form a compact stand one time and a spacious corner setup the next, depending on how you combine them.
In practice that means:
- Allocated 6 m²? Then you use part of your set.
- Allocated 24 m²? Then you add modules.
- Is your exhibition programme growing structurally? Then you buy extra components instead of a new stand.
Your investment therefore stays usable, even if your stand position changes every year.
What is the difference between modular stand construction and a custom build?
The distinction lies in reusability versus freedom of form.
- Modular stand construction — fixed dimensions, reusable system, lower cost per exhibition, fast assembly. Ideal with changing sizes and frequent participation.
- Custom stand construction — specially designed structure, complete freedom of form, higher costs and limited reusability. Ideal for a one-off brand moment or premium positioning.
There is also a middle road: a modular base with a few custom-made elements. That way you keep the advantages of a system without compromising on appearance.
How are the fabrics fixed in place?
With the Silicon Edge System. The full colour fabric graphic has a silicone edge that you slide into the groove of the frame.
That delivers three benefits:
- Seamless finish — no visible screws, clamps or edges
- Quick to change — replacing a fabric takes a few minutes
- Lower cost per campaign — you replace only the fabric, not the structure
Fabrics are washable and fold up compactly, which makes them easy to take along in a case.
Are modular exhibition stands sustainable?
Yes, on several fronts.
- Barely any waste — all components are reusable, so nothing is thrown away afterwards
- Recyclable material — aluminium can be fully reused at the end of its service life
- Lower transport emissions — the low weight and compact volume save journeys
- Efficient lighting — LED uses considerably less energy than traditional exhibition lighting
More and more exhibition venues now set requirements for circular stand construction. A modular system meets these as standard, so you are not caught out by surprises.
Can I integrate screens and interactive technology?
Yes. The frame is designed to take technology without you having to modify the structure.
- Screens and monitors — mounted directly to the frame with brackets
- Interactive touchscreens — for product catalogues, configurators or quizzes
- Video wall integration — several screens as one image surface
- Augmented reality — for demonstrating products that cannot physically travel with you
The cabling runs concealed through the frame profiles, so no loose wires are visible on the stand floor.
Can I rent a modular exhibition stand instead of buying one?
Yes, and you can still switch later. The same system is available in three forms:
- Renting — usually the most economical at one to three exhibitions a year. No storage, no maintenance.
- Buying — cheaper from three or four exhibitions a year, with full control over your appearance.
- Hybrid — you buy the core modules and rent extra elements for the large exhibitions.
That last form is the most common in practice among growing companies.
How much storage space do I need?
Little. A complete set normally fits into a few transport cases or boxes, together adding up to roughly one pallet.
By way of comparison:
- Modular system — fits in a corner of a warehouse or a small external storage unit
- Traditional wooden stand — requires several pallets and often a lorry per move
If you opt for the full service concept, we take care of the storage and your stand sits in our warehouse between exhibitions.
Benefits of a modular exhibition stand
Assembly without tools
The frames click together with a clamp connection. You need no screwdriver, no drill and no fitter. Two people build a 9 m² stand in roughly an hour. That scales up for larger configurations: an island stand of 30 m² takes an experienced team three to four hours. That saves not only labour costs, but also stress on build-up day.
One system, every size
Allocated 6 m² at one exhibition and 24 m² the next time? With standardised components you adjust the layout without buying new parts. The same frames form a portable exhibition stand for a regional event one time and a full-scale expo stand at an international trade fair the next.
Sustainable exhibition participation
Reusability is the biggest environmental benefit. Traditional stand construction produces mountains of waste at every exhibition; with a modular system you throw nothing away. Aluminium is also fully recyclable, and the low weight limits transport emissions. More and more exhibition venues now set requirements for circular stand construction, which makes a reusable system practical as well.
Lower cost per exhibition
You usually earn back the purchase of a modular system within two to three exhibitions. After that you only pay for new fabrics and transport. If you first want to experience whether it suits you, you can also rent the same system. You will find an overview of what participation really costs on our page about the cost of an exhibition stand.
Room for technology and experience
Interactive displays, touchscreens and screens for product demonstrations are easy to integrate into the frame. Augmented reality applications and video wall integration are equally possible within the same structure. For business meetings at the stand, double-sided walls let you build a screened-off meeting area; with acoustic panels you create a quieter corner in a busy hall. That combination of openness and privacy leads to higher visitor engagement, because conversations last longer.
Modular exhibition stand or custom build?
A modular exhibition stand is not always the only option. The distinction is as follows: do you choose a system that adapts to changing sizes and repeated use, or a unique structure that is built exactly once? With custom stand construction you buy freedom of form; with modular you buy flexibility and reusability.
In practice, companies that exhibit three or more times a year almost always choose modular. Those staging a one-off brand moment, such as a product launch with a distinctive design language, are more likely to end up with a custom build. There is a middle road as well: a modular base with a few custom-made elements built in, so you keep the advantages of a system without compromising on appearance.
Applications beyond the exhibition floor
The same system can be used far more widely than at trade fairs alone. Customers use their modular exhibition stand as a mobile showroom at dealer meetings, as a backdrop for business meetings and presentations, and as decor for events and conferences. Because the components are compact to transport, a complete set often fits into a handful of transport cases.
Assemble it yourself or have it taken care of
You decide for yourself how much you hand over. If you want to arrange everything yourself, choose self-build with a system that you assemble without a fitter. If you would rather have everything arranged for you, from 3D impression and layout options through to transport, assembly and storage, then our full service concept is the logical choice. Both variants run on the same system, so you can still switch later.
Curious what your stand will look like? Put a configuration together with the exhibition stand configurator, browse fully worked-out exhibition stand designs or request a quote directly. You will then receive a proposal with a 3D impression of your own stand.
